30D on tripod, ISO100, timer mode. I had 3 shots like that in a row. And the line never shows up again after the retake.

Hmm, I will say its a bristle from a brush, that wiped away after that one shutter... idk


Canon 40D, Canon Rebel Xti Canon 28-135 IS, Sigma 25-70, Canon 50mm 1.8, and one magical bag of photography skills... wait haven't found that yet.

Passing satellite? Dead space in the memory card?

I think I would be replacing the memory card as a precaution.

If it was a hair on the lens u wouldnt be able to see it anyway would you? no idea what it could be, hope its not the camera/lens.

when sensors die, its usually a straight line right? it doesnt seem like it would only kill half a row of pixels... weird?
