Some stop-action shots after the rain taken at a house near Ashville, NC. I have a couple more that looked like little firework explosions if you like these. Of course I had to shoot 100 times to get 10 keepers.

That rocks! I have seen folks do it with colored water and things. But those are sweet! number 1 looks like a crystal clear crown. Good work.

Hi guys, Thanks for looking and thanks for the compliments. Rich: I've seen the colored water ones and think it's an amazing effect. Someone on the board did one with Sprite or some other carbonated liquid, and with a black background I remember it being quite spectacular.

Awesome captures indeed! I like the third one...and yes, post more fore pete's sake:D I also did notice the sabre-toothed dust bunny in the upper left portion of your frame. Die sensor dust bunnies:lol:

!@#$ sensor dust! :( I hadn't even noticed until I adjusted the levels on one of these shots. Hopefully it hasn't ruined too many of my shots from the past few weeks.

As for more, here is one from a different angle and at a much slower shutter speed:

Thanks, MDoc! :) I appreciate the compliment. The discussions I've read and the feedback I've gotten from POTN has been invaluable. There are some very talented folks from all around the world using this board and it's nice to see their work, hear their points of view, and have someone "nearby" to talk photography/cameras with. I only wish I had more time to spend here and behind the camera.

All the best,
Joe

I agree whole heartedly with your comments. I used to be an amateur photographer back in the '50s and supported my hobby by shooting portraits, babies and proms. All with a twin len reflex. The ASA (now ISO) for the black and white was 60, but at least it was panchromatic film by then. Did all my processing in a darkroom in the basement. Thought I knew about photagraphy.

Then got this DSLR with the interchangeble lenses and infinite f stops and all the other goodies. Like starting all over again. I am really grateful for POTN since I spend a lot of time reading various threads.

Let's hear it for all the great people who are members and are willing to help and show their great pics!!!:D
