Congratulations Brian, well deserved.
it is nice to see something pleasant in the papers instead of all this Iraq war stuff, collapsed bridges etc.
Keep up the good work.

As always your stuff is AWESOME. But I have a question: Do you dew the plants your self? and if so, with what? Plane water? Sugar water? Corn syrup?

The reason I ask is because regular water seems to be fairly uncooperative.

Also, what is the trick to getting the background object so clear? Ultra macro? I only have a 100mm with no tubes so I can not get really close.

Thanx Sir!

Thanks again for the congrats- much appreciated :)
Beau- I'm afraid the dewdrops are completely natural early morning dew on my lawn. whilst you can try misting leaves I don't think you will get them hanging on the very tip of the grass blades as the natural stuff does. Most of my dewdrop shots are taken at 2:1 magnification or higher so you would really need a set of extension tubes and a flashgun if you don't have one. The trick to getting the background object and the dewdrop in focus is focus stacking. More info here on how they are done http://www.wonderfulphotos.com/articles/macro/dewdrops/ (external link)

I thought that that was the answer but maybe there was a way to do it in a single shot. Once again you rock and your images are always a treat!

Thanx!

Beau you can with a lot of moving of the background object get it and the drop in focus provided the object is fairly flat but you are likely to knock the drops off with too much playing about :)
