I just found this section of the boards a couple days ago (have mainly been keeping in the Sharing section) and I am so glad I did!
I'm on track to losing weight, but I'm going at it a bit differently than I have noticed many others are. I have stopped focusing on a number, per se, and I have been focusing on my body. Shape, size, feel. I am losing inches, that is the only number I track that holds any value to me (aside from my pant size).
I have a lot of clothes from when I was still healthier, so they are my check in system. I am already having to put some of my "fat clothes" away and pull out some of my older clothes (some still with price tags).
I have a gym membership, but rarely go. I'm working on making that a daily priority (shooting for 5 days a week). I mainly run in the pool (better on your joints so you don't notice how hard you're really working), but also do some weight training when there. I have also used another idea to kick my butt into gear. I joined the local roller derby league. Now if that's not a motivator to get into shape, I don't know what would help me.
Ultimately, I'd like to look and FEEL healthier. I want to be able to remain active, hike longer before getting winded, run around with my niece until SHE needs a break first, and be able to give my children the best start possible when we do decide to have kids. In the end, I've probably got about... oh... 40 - 50 lbs of fat to lose, but like I said, that's not going to be the number I focus on as I will also be gaining/toning muscle while trying to "lose weight"
