Killing me with all of this snack and other wonderful food talk.

Didn't get my Subway last night, will do that tonight. Instead had rotisserie chicken (no skin), corn and mac & cheese. Only one helping so I was hungry at night and had a cup of white rice with a little soy sauce sprinkled over it.

I have Chinese food coming any minute, not sure if I shared this but most Chinese places will steam many items (our local restaurant needs to be told 'Steamed, Diet Chicken' and they understand). I get General Tso's or Orange chicken with white rice and steamed chicken. They then put the sauce on the side (or its even good on it). The chicken though cooked properly can be a little slimy and bland, dip it in the sauce, grab some white rice and cram it in. Very good and much better than those tasty fried chunks of chicken. Yummy.

 I had no idea!! I'll have to try that next time. I LOVE General chicken.

I have become addicted to my daily salad.

Another convert, huh? I've been addicted to salads for years! I could make a meal out of just a salad every day and never get tired of it.

I've always liked salads, but they need to be interesting. ;) I can't do just lettuce and dressing. *blech*

Here's another favorite: grilled chicken doused in your hot sauce of choice. Baked beans, brown rice, chopped tomatoes, leafy greens. MMmmmm.

Definitely. And, no iceberg lettuce is allowed anywhere near my salads! I toss all kinds of stuff in there. I only recently discovered that what I've been making for myself for years is pretty much a cross between a Cobb salad and a Chefs salad.

I love Romaine lettuce, had some in my Caesar salad last night, dressing on the side, didn't eat the croutons.

And thanks for remember my son's wedding. I haven't posted anything yet, but Jim will. I did the cut out of my son, but left it on the couch because it looked so real, people were taking second looks. It also did not fit in the luggage so we left it at home for the UT reception. The whole week was fun, but glad it's all over. I gained so much weight due to eating out every day, I'm happy to have a yogurt. :)

Ohhh ain't that the truth. I had one of those on Sunday and it was nasty, no wonder I wanted to go get a big greasy cheeseburger afterwards. Give me lettuce, cheese, radishes, little hard boiled egg slices, croutons and some chopped up meat of some sort, preferably chicken. Light bleu cheese dressing is tolerable but I'd rather eat the salad plain and dip selected chunks in a cup of the dressing on the side.

I LOVE vegetables (hate fruit) but unfortunately I also hate lettuce...(except a minimal amount of romaine). Sooooowhen I make a salad it's got to be mostly OTHER veggies...which means a heck of a lot of work & expense  I wish we had a Sweet Tomatoes restaurant nearby because it would actually be less expensive and more healthy to eat there a majority of the time!

Good to hear everyone is either doing good, or being conscious of there errors.

I too LOVE salads in almost any shape or form. I always have one a day, either with my evening meal, or as my lunch. Like you Cat, I love to dress them up, add lots of different veggies, or some chicken, tuna or nuts.

Hey, sounds like everyone is doing pretty good here! :) And lots of good habits in the making, too. I also like salads and I often buy the pre-packaged lettuce or just a pre-packaged salad of some sort from the deli.

After my 70 calorie breakfast I stuck it out and had a 250 calorie lunch. Then went walking, then went to the Y to work out. Got weighed and I'm 1.5 pounds lighter than last week. :D Of course, I suspect one pound of the loss is just because I have less food in my innards, lol. I let myself have a 500 calorie supper, so I'm a happy camper again. I'll be glad to be on my regular schedule the rest of the week.

That is so not a salad! It frustrates the @#$#@ out of me when I go to a restaurant and the "salad" is some nasty lettuce with a few scraps of carrot or something.

I could live on salads but a real salad is full of neat stuff and the best ones for me have some colour! Spinach (I rarely buy any type of lettuce and NEVER iceberg, that's just plain nasty), capsicum (hopefully two colours!), celery, bright red tomatoes, corn, zucchini, bean sprouts - anything in the fridge LOL Add a bit of chicken or some really good cheese...my fav chicken at the moment is honey soy and it's so easy & fast. The marinade acts as a dressing. I don't think we even own any real dressings. Sweet chili sauce is my second favourite to use on salads. Yumm - too bad it's only 7am here or I'd make one right now!

No beach walk for me again yesterday, but I did three 10-15 minute brisk walks plus a 2 & 3 minute elliptical session while between calls. I also did 20 whole minutes (a new record!!) on the elliptical later in the afternoon. Maybe a little "cheating" but the wild galahs were out the front of the house when I left/returned from my walks and also while I was on the e-machine, so here's a shot ;)

IMAGE: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/alcina/land%20and%20stuff/galah1.jpg

Went out to dinner with some friends and had a fresh pasta in red sauce with "vegetables"...four half slices of zucchini and about 5 strips of red capsicum, I was not amused. I ate the veggies and about four bites of pasta. Very disappointing as the flavour was good. Also had three (hubby thinks I didn't have that much) small glasses of Sauv Blanc.

Tomorrow's weigh-in for me and I'm feeling fairly confident that I am still on the right track. It'd be nice to be AT my goal, but I know I didn't put all of this on in a month, I'm not going to take it off in one LOL

Awesome job, Everyone - really helps to see how everyone else is doing!

Kristin you are doing fantastic! And I love that shot. I've never seen a wild one. Do you feed them to make them hang around?

Wanda - love the shot :)

Our galahs are wild and come and go at will. They seem to like the pods on one of the trees out front, so spend a bit of time there sometimes. They also hang out on the wires - lots of problems caused by them chewing through and causing outages. We don't put food out for them, though if there is any seed around, they'll flock in along with the doves, pigeons and other various rats with wings (I am not a great bird fan).

Thanks for the kind words on mine!
