Two brimstone butterflies of opposite sex in the same area and you'd think they'd get together. She spotted him and was definitely interested but he'd rather continue to nectar off his bit of thistle. Females are much paler than males and look white in flight, which was enough to get a large white male exited. She rejected his advances several times before he got the message. Love is cruel.
Here they are, decidedly apart:
Male first, female second. Canon S3 with HDK raw hack + 500D as usual. C&C appreciated.

Fantastic detail in #1 and lovely light in #2. Think I prefer #1, but it's close!

S3 looks mega sharp. #1 for detail, #2 for lighting.
Prefer to view with gap between images.
