I have lots of dust on the sensor (had the camera under a year so still under warranty. I tried using the rocket blower to remove it but all it is doing is adding more dust to the sensor.............

So how do I get rid of it??

Do I DIY (how?)

or sent it to Canon and where and anyone know the return time since I have a wedding to shoot on the 1st of September.

The Clone Tool and/or the Healing Brush in Photoshop will get rid of these in a few secs. Other than that, try any one of several sensor cleaning kits on the market.

It's look like you need the wet clean method ... You can try to spend about $50 ...or send it to Canon and pay shipping only .I went to Canon service center in california drop off my camera and it's ready for pick up next day ...so i guess if you ship it to them and when they done they ship it's back to you maybe 2 weeks the most .

It could be an alien invasion?

I thought I had a similar issue today. It was, unusually for the UK this summer, a lovely warm day and the birds were out catching flying insects. The worst case of dust on sensor I've ever seen. It took me all of ten minutes to clone them out.

So don't get paranoid about the wedding, PhotoShop (or whatever you use) will gallop to the rescue.

Take a look at this site (external link). It is pretty good and will give you the basic process. It looks to me like you need a wet cleaning.

When you use the rocket blower, make sure you turn the camera upside down, otherwise you are just blowing the dust to a different part of the sensor.

Step back please... I'm armed with a camera...
