Well i am not that sure of the name, but seing another thread with a insect like mine, i figured this will do!

Musy have spent about 30mins trying to get shots of these, soon as you get close the bleeders fly off :rolleyes:

But then i got 2 on a leaf mating, so all was worth it!

No comments, i'm sure it was a damsel fly. How could the shot be improved then?

I think it would have been a better shot if you could have got round to the left more to get both flies in focus. Try f11 to give you a little more DOF f8 was too shallow.

Hi Willy,
Yes they are damsel flies. I agree with Alby - getting both insects on the same plane will make it easier to get them both in focus when your DOF is so shallow, also stopping down a little to f11 will increase the DOF a bit.

Thanks, i was thinking it would have been something to do with the DOF. I did try to get around the front, but couldn't as they kept flying:(
