Thats a great set of shots - well done for both DF and HF in-flight shots, thats good going.

The grasshopper shot is really good too, he is a lovely colour.

The hover rocks... as Bill said he's really looks like he's kickin some wicked speed.
#3 reminds me of a sci-fi show with a the bulky spacecraft is coming in for a landing. (for all us "Thunderbirds" fans out there)

Grasshopper flying? Nobody is ever satisfied. Actually, I have seen grasshoppers hover from time to time. Hmmm. Anyway, thanks guys. I had a very productive morning as I filled up my 4 GB card. Out of approx. 300 shots, I had 12 keepers. I consider that satisfactory. --Rick

Superb shots. I think #2 is my favourite, especially with the foot gesture remarked on by Mark earlier.

12 out of 300? Just think how much that would cost back in the days of film. Less than 1 keeper per 24 shot roll. At least you've made me feel better about my keeper ratio now.

Nice series - it is quite amazing what digital technology is allowing us to do now - the cost alone of using so much film would be quite prohibitive! - I read a quote a while ago about Lord Snowdon being asked if he was in favour of digital photography - he basically said yes because it saved him thousands of £s!!

Thanks for the input Bernie and Dave. Yes, digital does have advantages. I try not to get sloppy in my photography simply because digital is "free", but it does let you take chances. My average ratio is about 1 in 10. If the photo is not sharp at 100%, it is immediately deleted. I try to be very critical in my work. If I am not impressed, then why should anybody else? And I try to raise my standards every year. Someday I may be satisfied. --Rick

I'm so glad to hear someone say that. My g/f thinks I'm a shutterholic taking hundreds of shots of one subject cause I'm never satisfied with the results.
Ahhhhhh....feeling a little better now
