It will never heal. Those scrapings/carvings not only are there for the life of the plant, they very likely could compromise the life of the plant.

This IS NOT ART. It is vandalism.

Nice photo-journalistic picture though . . . .

I think it is interesting to note that the names you see carved into this living thing's flesh are pretty much American given names. No typically local Italian names. This is the kind of thing that makes me an embarrassed American tourist when I travel.

That's a shame. But nice journalistic photo. Thanks for sharing.

The best explanation of graffiti for me was when I asked a fellow why in the hell do kids, and even folks in their 30's do this anti=social, annoying, disrespectful, disgusting thing. He said it was like dogs that go around peeing on their "turf" to show ownership.

I still think that is an insult to dogs.

A Sean Penn movie long ago where he played a cop was great when he caught one of these jerks and Penn sprayed his face with the spray can paint. I loved it. Of course Hollywood made the kid out to be the victim who was truly a good boy at heart.

Could we issue hunting licenses...............? I guess not. lol It's getting late, guess I am getting grouchy too, hehe.

how big is that aloe plant?

I am not even sure if it is the 'Aloe Vera' plant if this photo... I just liked the name 'Aloe Vandalism' for it...

Is there a Botanist in the House?

I'd say this one was perhaps 80 > 100 cm tall.
I've seen it done on loads of such plants, for example the big tall cactuses in South America, and other fleshy plants in India, etc. with similar names etched into them. Something I never really like seeing...
