Thanks, I must say that you are the one responsable for my rrenewed interrest in insect macro photo. Interest I left 25 years ago, when it was expensive to do in medium format. But at this time the insects spent some time in the refrigerator, and it was easier. The back was better also.
By the way Happy birthday too.

A wonderful shot. Colour, composition and detail is just great - your Kleenex did a fine job.

Not much actually. My old Rebel XT, my new 100mm macro, 2 Kleenex, and a lot of luck. 1/200-f2.8 ( Bad I know) + Pop up flash.

This one is about 1-1/2" the other one is a good 2". They just made a neston the sidewalk. Hope they last.

Given the size and appearance, this guy certainly looks like a Cicada Killer to me :)

Regardless in any circumstance -- but especially considering you used the popup flash... excellent shot! The high aperture really worked suprisingly well in this case, beautiful.

Afraid I can't be of any help on the ID either.

You did a good job diffusing the flash and nice focus and bokeh.

Go to f/4.5 or a little more if you dare.
