Hiya All,

Well my new piece of glass arrived today after a shortish wait, so I set about trying to find me a Springtail to shoot, after ages of looking I found this little one hiding under a Cobweb in a Dustbin lid  at first I thought it had been captured but it was quite happily walking around on it & not being attacked by the resident Spider

This one measured 3mm so I guess it's quite a big one, not sure of it's ID I'll leave that to those that know  I was going to get the ID off RM's site but I can't get in there at the mo ???

Cheers for now
Mark

Nicely done Mark, who needs a overly priced mp-e65 when a milk bottle bottom stuck on the 105 will do the same :-D

Hiya Bill, Alby,

Many thanks for your kind words & comments.

Alby,
Tiz amazing what one can do with a couple of Springs, A bit of Glass & some Plastic eh  I've not stretched it to it's limits yet as I'm only working with 33mm of Tubes & the ' Add On ' I'll step things up a bit in a while, I'd forgotten how shallow things would be :lol:

Cheers for now
Mark

Hiya Linda, RM, Martin,

Many thanks for your kind words & comments,

RM,
Thanks for that, I'm not sure what happened but I'm sure it musta been up my end !! still all is OK now

Linda.
I'm sure that once you spot one you'll one day, took me ages to find my first, trouble was I was thinking small but not small enough, I'm now trying to get some shots of Mites but hell they're teeny.

Martin,
I gota come clean !! it's not a new flashy Lens,( I wish ) it's the
DCR-250 Super Macro lens I had one once before on my S3 IS & it was a little Gem for the price, I'd love that MPE but the new car has to be got in Sept :lol:

Cheers for now
Mark

Excellent series Mark- love the details of the spring on the underside :)
Assume you are adding a dioptre or reversing a lens on the front of the 105 ?

Nice shots Mark. I find it hard to focus at 1:1, so I think I'll struggle with tubes.

I have dropped a few hints regarding an approaching birthday, but we'll see if they get taken up. ;) Think my keeper ratio might fall even lower then.

Hiya Brian,

Many thanks for your kind words & comments,

Recon that was just luck finding that Springtail wandering around on that Cobweb, it took ages to get those two underside shots, the little blighter would just about go upside down & just as I was about to take the shot the swine changed it's mind, musta spent an Hr squinting through the view finder before I got em

Here's a link to my piece of Plastic fantastic, it just clips in the front of the 105, but you gota make sure it's centered well, it's the same as I had on my S3 IS
