UPS came at 5:00. took the box, put in in my van and left for work. Two hours late, oh well, I have priorities!

I had prepacked a small bag with a lens, CF card and charged battery. Got to work and took out the 5D, loaded the card and battery and put the lens on and snapped a few quick shots in the office. WOW! I brought the 17-40 and it REALLY is wide angle!

Went out at dinner and took a few shots just to get the feel of the camera. Not much to really say there ... it sure feels just like my 10D and the shutter is a little bit quieter. The shocker is checking out the screen ... I feel like I have a big screen TV now! :)

Went through the menu a few times. Doesn't look like anything major different though I'm sure I'll be scratching my head some.

Haven't had a chance to look at the shots I took except on the LCD and they aren't anything anyway. Tomorrow I'll be out early checking it out.

Also got my 2x extender and I didn't even open the box.

The big step is done ... I HAVE MY 5D!!! :)

You'll soon get used to the enormous viewfinder and large LCD. I know I have :(

Now I want a bigger viewfinder, and bigger LCD :)

I want to get one sooo bad. I have come close to making the impulsive decision and put it on the credit card. Ugh!

Update... I made the impulsive decision. I bought the 5d kit with the 24-135mm L f4 lens. I'm so excited to try it out! It's all your fault that I am spending all this money! :-)
