do you light your subjects from the inside? Some striking images there.

What was the setup for the last shot?

Stunning series. #1 and 5 are my favourites.

The Damsel fly almost looks like it's giving a speech. The Robber fly makes a particularly dramatic picture.

Thanks all for your kind words and comments. If memory serves well, all shots were taken handheld with 5D and MP-E65. A 1.4xTC was used for a couple of them (don't remember which ones and the camera doesn't record that piece of info). Below is the EXIF for each one of the above images. RM, don't know what exatly you mean "light your subjects from inside", but the MT-24EX was used for all shots. Lighting angle and direction were adjusted for different situations in which these shots were taken.

#1 1/200s f/14.0 at 65.0mm iso1000 <== forgot to adjust this....I guess it's not too bad at 1000 :)
#2 1/200s f/16.0 at 65.0mm iso200
#3 1/200s f/13.0 at 65.0mm iso200
#4 1/200s f/14.0 at 65.0mm iso100
#5 1/200s f/16.0 at 65.0mm iso100
