My first in flight hover fly shots. At one point I had the two males facing head to head hovering, but I could not get the focus right.

How the heck do you guys get these shots? They are amazing. I finally have some hoverflys in my garden and I can get them to hover long enough to get anything other than the flowers in the background. Do you have a time turner or some magic wand that allows you to slow time? ;):)

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Thanks for the great comments Bill, Attic and gjl711!

I guess it requires a lot of patience, but most importantly, luck. I am assuming they are two males fighting over the female.

Is this collectively known as a squadron?

Terrific shot. Two in-flight and in focus is showing off. :D

I'm not buying it. I still think its a magic wand. Yup, that's it and you're not going to convince me any different.;)
