NOT! Check this: http://www.northlight-images.co.uk/Canon_40D.html (external link) and previous rumors. The body looks nice but.....
-It had better be MORE than 10 megapixels (Just for the sake of it)
-More custom functions
-Larger VF
-More AF points (The latest 'real looking' rumor image doesn't show any improvement)
-Battery grip issues should be solved
-Any advanced battery indicator ala 1D III?
-Dual memory card slots would hint me to start investing in some SDs
Otherwise, the 50D had better use CFs as well
-Some other kickass improvements would be welcome as well (bokeh simulation and in-camera RAW-> JPEG processing anyone?)

since I will be upgrading from my old digital rebel, I don`t care if it doesn`t bring any significant change over the 30d. Yay for the 40d!!!

you really want more than 10mp? I know it looks good for non-technical people, but Id rather have the better ISO performance.

I can't believe you people on this forum are complaining about a camera that doesn't even exist yet.

Oh yeah. They have just released a 10mp Flagship Mark III and you expect their 3rd from best line up to be higher on mp in the same 6 months of release?
1Ds/1D "16.7" + "10"
5D "12"
30D/40D "8.2" + "10"

Viewfinder and AF is the 30Ds issues that require addressing!

Personally I look at these specs and I would upgrade from my XTi after I get a 70-200 f2.8 IS and new Mac book pro, so roughly next spring.

The S stands for Small it is the resolution of a Small Jpg file in RAW format.
