I was just realizing that the Mark III cap is different from others. I didn't pay attention when I started using the MIII, and now the cap has been mixed in with my others. Can anyone help me identify it... how do you tell it from others?

When you do find it, would you mind taking a photo of it side by side with a regular cap? I am just curious as to what it looks like. :)

Best of luck.

It has a more matte finish from a highly textured dimply surface, otherwise it's pretty much the same. You should be able to spot it, as it will be the one that's unique coampred to the others. (or do you have only two?)

The "Body Caps" for the Canon T-con differ as well, they have to be deeper, and normal caps won't fit.

Cyber, what does it say on the back? I have two here that have different markings on them, but they look about the same. Once has "III 2" on it and one has "V 2" on it.

By the way, anyone know where I can get a "body cap" to fit on a Canon Teleconverter? They are deeper and I lost one and can't seem to find a source for a replacement.

O-kay,. some of my other caps say nothing at all, some say "Canon Japan" and nothing else (like the Cap for the T-Cons which has a unique part number but it';s not on th ecap itself)

but I found what must be my 20D cap,. and it says clearly
Canon

Japan

1 3

My Mark III body cap says the exact same as CDS's - he formatted it just how it looks, too!

I can just see the new collector's craze sweeping the nation - Canon body caps!

"Hey - I have a gen-u-wine guaranteed authentic EOS RT body cap - mint condition. It's yours for only a 1D IIi with no AI-Servo problems and 1.1.0 firmware."

Jon, for a moment I misread, and thought you spoke of "Canon Body bags".

Now that I think about it, I feel an Idea coming up !!... ;)

Cheers,

Oops! Had the wrong body cap on my Mark III. It actually says "IV 1", just like Jake said. The "II 2" and "II 1" are for my Mark II and 30D. :o
