Hello,
My friend and I (both POTN members) are looking at doing some sports photography with the schools this fall.
What we need is a business name - and that is the hard part! Trying to find a name that hasn't been taken in Oregon yet, and that has an open .com domain name is not an easy task. One idea that someone suggested was "Boring Boys' Photography"

At first I liked it - we have been called the Boring Boys for awhile and are fine with the term. But, I am not sure how professional it sounds...
We live in a town in Oregon called "Boring" - we have shops like "Boring Bark" for barkdust and gravel, "Boring Nursery" for trees and plants, etc... so the people in our market area ARE used to seeing "Boring" in the name of a business.

I guess it is more the term "Boys" in the the name. We are young (19-20), and that in itself brings enough problems when trying to sell your services. But adding the term "boys" into the mix might hurt even more...

So what are your thoughts of the name? Professional? Un-professional? Stupid? Dude what were you thinking even listening to that suggestion?

Thanks!

I think if the town is called Boring, then Boring probably won't hurt you...however, I don't think it anyway reflects photography. Perhaps Boring Boys Studios or something would...but I don't think photographers when I think Boring Boys. KWIM?

Studios seems a bit indoor to me - which is why "Boring Boys Photography" seemed like a blanket photo name... but studio is still a good idea :-)
