Another hover

Stunning hover Linda, I've not seen one of those knowingly, definitely a beautiful hover and you've captured it very well.

Thanks Alby - you need to look lower down to see these, thats probably why you may not have noticed them. I saw it by sheer chance - they move quite slowly for a hover and although they hover, its lower down just a foot or two above ground. Keep your eyes peeled, they are gorgeous.

k can someone tell me why do most of the hover i shoot someone else shoot seem to be thin in the belly? oh sorry Linda great shots also.

The males (no gap between the yes on the top of the head) are always fairly thin- you need to find a pregnant female - they can get quite fat
Pic below is a pregnant Melanostoma scalare (BTW Linda think this species normally has greenish halteres)
