Glad you've found my golden evening shot as rewarding as I did when I saw it up there somehow painted in two tones by the setting sun. A part of me wishes I'd created the effect in pp, that I was that good with the tools. In reality, there was a need to diddle with the shadow area to bring balance in the lower right to the explosively lit geometry above. Hence the noise. Yes, there is a ton of PP here to allow the release of tonality but it is not HDR, just a dig into the information which camera RAW presents us. And there was definately no tripod work here. I rarely use one. I lack the tenacity to carry it, set it up and fiddle with the thing. My work is entirely based upon discovering a spontaneous moment to express the idea I'm off to discover in any particular shoot. This time the idea was sort of complex as visitors to this image on my blogsite have discovered. But it was worth the work.

Ted

Thanks... that lighting around the spire was for real... I looked up and saw the setting sun painting it golden and whoa....
