Shot this little chap where I find the springtails has is also only about 2mm any help with ID greatly appreciated.

it's a seed or shield bug nymph ,looks like it's time for them to come out

Neat macro work.


The equipment list:
20D, EF-S IS 17-85mm with hood and filters, EP-EX15, Grip BG-E2,
4 2GB SanDisk EXtream III CF cards, Dell Inspiron,
Manfrotto 3205 Tripod, Lowepro Orion AW backpack,

some species of Mirid bug, Polymerus unifasciatus is similar (of course I looked it up!).

p.s how come I can't highlight text then right click and copy any more? edit - ignore this question, just ran CCleaner and now mouse is working normally.

Great shots, as RM says tiz a Mirid Bug, there seems to be a lot around on Stinging Nettles at the mo.
