I am pleased with this shot.Took it today with my Nikon 50+sigma 50mm macro lens+sigma macro ring flash

this is my 2nd shot of a wasp flying.i took my 1st 2 shots of them today and i have found a new hobby..shooting flying insects

took this today on the highest fstop..im getting use to the 1-5x so at the mo im using it at high fstops to get a half decent shot..soon as i get use to it a bit mroe il start stepping down the fstops to get a clearer shot(sharper)
Iv only had this rig(mpe-65-canon 400D and tiw lite ring flash a few dyas..im geting use to is but its going to take some time til i get shots half as good as lordv.

Good shots- the first two are both a drone fly hoverfly in flight. The cricket should have the focus on the eyes, slightly backfocused. Think you would have been better with a wider aperture for the caterpillar -it's just very soft as is.

that was my 1st ever shot of a drone fly hoverfly in flight all any fly hovering for that matter..I am happy that it turned out like that for my 1st hovering shot..I cant wait till tomorow.just cant wait to get my 105mm back fomr sigma then i can get closer as this 50mm u need to be so close..
thanks for stopping by ballen p.il be shooting tomorrow and i might go to the butterfly farm which is situated 4 miles fmor my house..and i have never been there..tomorrow or monday iv got to go there..i have got to the stage now that im shooting and 50% of my pics are looking good..I still have a long way to go but im confident that i could pull off a few good shots at the farm...speake to u soon buddie.

Some nice shots MJ but have to agree with RM, I don't think it's a good idea to shove all your macros in one thread as it will get a little messy I think.
