Was stalking around my thistle patch yesterday( awesome spot to find bugs) and looked up and here were these two hovers going at it with no shame. SO I carefully turned the lens towards them, slowly leaned in to focus and caught these captures. I use a reversed kit lens, so most of you know how close I had to get which goes to show you how caught up in the moment they were.
Notice how the top hover does all of the flying.

Top shot. Really good. I know how hard it is to get HIF so well done.

amazing shots..what set up and settings ?

I used the XT with the 18-55 reversed on a homemade adapter, AV mode with on camera flash sync. to 1/200th, Aper. set at F/10, ISO 100, FEC set to +1/3 or 2/3 rd's of a stop, handheld, I need to make a sliding bracket for my tripod so I can get some use out of it. And thanks!

Fantastic shots Trevor. I couldn't see the pictures earlier, the site wouldn't display them, but they were worth waiting for!

Definitely the best HIF's I've seen.

Truly fantastic images. I agree, they are the best in-flight shots seen so far and so unique with them mating, something you dont see that often.

Im not surprised the one on top did all the flying, its got its legs over the lower one's eyes lol.

Well done, great to see these pics.
