I bought mine from a local camera shop. They helped me get a double rebate by say I bought the 580EX I had purchased the month before on the same day as the camera. Saved me an extra $300!

thecameraprofessionals.com is a scam for sure. Look at their reseller rating (external link)

For the best price go with Beach Camera (external link) or US1 Photo (external link)

I have ordered many times from both these stores with no problems...

BH (external link) is the best ...I purchase alot of lens from them ...and it's so easy to deal with them when you have a problem and return (free shipping) .I don't know any camera site out there will do return free shipping like BH .

Canoga Camera is good. Trustworthy, not a scam, cheaper than B&H. Family run business in LA. Same day shipping.

You may want to rethink the 8gb card. The biggest I have is 4GB, and loads of 2GB cards. You would not want that 8GB card to crap out on you with 400 photos on it. I got a 4gb card a few weeks back at Staples for like $53.

Actually, you wouldn't want to have any card, with any amount of images on it.

Step back please... I'm armed with a camera...

When purchasing something as expensive as a 5D, I don't know about you, but factors in addition to pricing come into play for me. Reputation, customer service, will you have a hard time exchanging it if bad, etc. The price of safety "insurance" may cost a few bucks more, but it's worth it.

When I purchased mine, I got it from BH. They are one of the largest for a reason: excellent reputation, excellent customer service.

I purchase a bad lens copy from them a few months back. Within 24 hours, I had a rma number and shipping labels in my hand to ship it back to them (at their cost) PLUS they had already shipped the replacement to me overnight. Don't know about you, but THAT is worth something to me.
