Hi everyone
Here's a couple of hoverflies that I thought were interesting :D
I think I've seen this one posted on here before

Not a very sharp shot its was early in the morning not much light. I did not have a flashgun as I was travelling light, thought he looks cool though

Beautiful shots of them both.

The first one is Helophilus pendulus and the second one is of a small group that has the yellow markings on the thorax, Syrphini group. Hope to get my book soon so will be much easier to ID these lol.

Great shots. Love the first one. Haven't seen one of those before.

I'll definitely know a Helophilus pendulus when I see it. (Thanks Linda)

I'm sure the other one is Helophilus trivittatus and not Helophilus pendulus as pendulus has a yellow w on the abdomem and trivittatus has a white w on the base of the abdomen and whiter strips on the thorax.
