Well was not going to go today as i had loads of things to do but managed to get to the show for the last hour and it was well worth the trip.

The Spitfire and Hurricane are my favourites so will bore you all with a few shots of them.

All taken with a MKIII (not to happy with the A/F today) and 300 f2.8 some with 1.4x TC.

Excellent sharp shots. The 300 comes into its own here. Very impressed with your shots.

Thanks for the comments it was my first time at an Airshow for several years, infact since i left school. The Spitfire sounds amazing and is a pleasure to see flying still, will be paying a visit to my brothers soon and he is lucky enough to have his garden backing on to the base they keep the Battle of Britain flight at.

The 300 was just right today and the compressed files for web do not do the sharpness of the pictures much justice to be honest, the MKIII delivers some stunning images when it gets them in focus which today was not as often as i would like.

Glenn, really nice images, like #3 the best. I was there too! took many photos with my 70-200mm + 1.4x unfortunately got there about 1:45 so we stayed at the end of the runway which was not that good, last time I went I shot from near the control tower where all the action is. No AF issue with my setup.

Cheers

Thanks Robert have a couple which i have not posted which are being printed for my wall ;) of the Spitfire and one of the Hurricane.

Thanks Nick did not get there myself until just after 3.30 and stayed in the overflow carpark, could not hear the comentator from there but did have my scanner so listened to the control tower and pilots instead.Took 220 images but lost 76 to A/F playing up on the MKIII so was not a happy bunny when i got home but was more than pleased with seeing the Spitfire and Hurricane.

Look forward to seeing your pictures

Glenn, You must have been about 50ft from me, we were on the other side of the fire engine from you. I did a quick edit tonight not many good ones should have shot from nearer the control tower and left the TC off and better light down there.

Cheers

Sorry, but have you ever used a 300 f/2.8? That's the kind of result i get from my Sigma version.
