I don't know if this is your first Beagle or not, but just a few notes:

Beagles not used to hunt have a tendency to get fat...watch what they eat.

Also, NEVER let a Beagle out of your sight when outside. It only takes them a second to find a scent at which point they will follow it. Don't trust "invisible fences" either...Beagles are little escape artists!

Lastly, they are prone to separation anxiety...This one's sooo cute, why not get another. They need companionship!

Anyway, I love the photos! I'm still trying to get mine to stop running away from the camera (not the best hunter as she hates the clicking sound).

This is my first Beagle. Thanks for the comments and tips. Now she can't keep still so I'm practicing focusing skills.:p

Linkzi - What do you mean by a 13 inch beagle?

I second what olson_24 said. Never let a beagle out of your site outside. My 4.5 month beagle/pit bull is always following scents even when she's on a leash. Our late dog, a beagle/spaniel was the same way.

That is so funny for the dog taking off on a scent. The breeder told me my dog will be about 13 inches and 30 pounds. I did some research and the Beagles are classified as 13-inch and 15-inch. Since Lulu's parents are 30 pounds, she is actually a 15-inch classification but they start at 13 inches to a height of 15 inches. It was on a poster at my vets.

Nice pics!!

+1 on all the above, esp the second comment. Beags are slaves to their noses. It takes a lot of training to get them to respond when they hit an "interesting" trail.

The last comment has a LOT of validity too. Two are less trouble than one. Trust me! You are in for some fun in just a couple months!!:-) Let the chewing begin!! Remember to get pics then!

Your Beagle will provide you with tons of photo opportunites both pleasant and not so much. They are inquisitive and masters at both escape and intrusion.

Enjoy and keep the camera handy!

That last one, oh my god! :O It so cute, unbelievable! Too bad you didn't get the whole dog in the first picture, but it's still great as well.

Thanks! I can already see what you guys are talking about. She finds a scent in the yard and is determined to get whatever it is by digging. Consistently sniffing. Also very fast moving for looking for an escape path if confined.

Outside the fact that she's cute as all get out, the exposure and color are terrific. Nice work.
