And things are well cheap. I went to Jessops in Peterborough today and got some bloody good deals. Also looking at my next lens. The Sigma 17-50 2.8. List price is £330.00 but with the closing down sale discount it equates to £210.00

Lots of studio gear up for grabs as well as tonnes of other stuff. If there is a Jessops near you then it may be worth a look see to see if they are closing. All Stock is pretty much 70% Discount so take a look.

May be of use to someone :D

Chris

A bargain at Jessops? Stop the press - Elvis has returned, riding side-saddle on Shergar with Lord Lucan!

Some are closed already. Some are open as clearance centres. Some are kept open per normal. Current stock (so a lot of lenses) etc are being transferred from closed and clearance centres to the normal stores.

So it's not everything reduced. However, I was in the one at Beckton/Galleons Reach last week and they had 70% off accessories, things like lens extenders (but for obtuse cameras). I did see a Tamron lens at a good price but not an overly popular one. I just picked up a 32-in-1 card reader, and 4 usb hub by Hama. And 2 lens pens, which had brushes at the other end. Was £6 in total.

I can't see any future for most shops these days if stuff is cheaper to order online. I can see grocery shops keeping going and most clothes/furniture/large appliance shops but the rest? Magazines will be hard hit too.
