Get in touch with the seller, and have him post a shot of the original box. IT will say IS on it, if it's IS.

If it isn't IS then it's much too much! Either way I would be scared of it. It made no mention of pictures of the actual lens or box and that is what I asked for in the question. 7D, 10D, Canon EFS 18-55mm modded

Aug 06, 2007 18:01 | #21 I actually called the guy and he said that it is IS, brand new in the box, and I can return it if I'm not happy with it. Still I pause when a deal is too good to be true. However, he does have a very good rating on ebay. Chris

This listing with 3 lenses available is now gone and a new listing with 4 lenses available is not there in it's place. I would ask him how he can get these so cheap. Aug 07, 2007 07:25 | #29 On another note, since I did talk to the guy yesterday, he offered me the Mack warranty for $129.00 and then I heard him sigh when I wasn't interested. Kind of seems like he could be a handful to deal with if the product doesn't turn out to be what we all expect. Chris

The picture posted clearly is a non-is lens. Me dear old da told me a long time ago that if a deal was to good to be true, that it probably wasn't true. I can't imagine there is any profit in selling a new IS version of the lens for ~$400 less than B&H. Gear List: Bunches and bunches and still looking for more!
