Get in touch with the seller, and have him post a shot of the original box. IT will say IS on it, if it's IS.

Step back please... I'm armed with a camera...

If it is IS, then he's selling it far below cost and that scares the pants off me! If it isn't IS then it's much too much! Either way I would be scared of it.

If the seller says it is IS like you said, does he really know what IS is? Does it say IS on the lens and the box?

I would be very afraid of this one personally but if it's like he says then it's a great deal for sure.

I want one of these lenses too and I would be too afraid to buy it.

I'd be extremely careful...I sent them an email (just for s and grins) asking if IS or not and received a response in 10 seconds; meaning to me it is a computer generated response, the same as OP received. It made no mention of pictures of the actual lens or box and that is what I asked for in the question.

That's almost 100 dollars more than what i've found so far. Google and you'll run into much cheaper prices.

I actually called the guy and he said that it is IS, brand new in the box, and I can return it if I'm not happy with it. Still I pause when a deal is too good to be true. However, he does have a very good rating on ebay.

This listing with 3 lenses available is now gone and a new listing with 4 lenses available is now there in it's place.

I would ask him how he can get these so cheap.

I'm sorry but I just don't believe this whole thing but I guess I'm very skeptical about the truthfulness of this whole thing.

I agree with Ed about buying 10 if it's real and you could resell them for an immediate profit!

I still don't believe it!

Maybe they factory seconds or somethng like that. Hmmmmmmmm!:confused::confused:

At this point in time it probably doesn't mater as the sellers E-Bay listing said that 0 are available.

Looks like a mishap on their part....

If it pans out it would be a sweet deal. I would be a little concerned that their is no reviews on reseller rating, especially since they advertise they have been around since 1938.

Please let us know how this ends....I may be in the market for a 7-2 IS!!!

On another note, since I did talk to the guy yesterday, he offered me the Mack warranty for $129.00 and then I heard him sigh when I wasn't interested. Kind of seems like he could be a handful to deal with if the product doesn't turn out to be what we all expect.

Methinks you will get the Non-is version of the lens. The picture posted clearly is a non-is lens. Me dear old da told me a long time ago that if a deal was to good to be true, that it probably wasn't true. I can't imagine there is any profit in selling a new IS version of the lens for ~$400 less than B&H.

As a side note, don't comprimise on the non-is version. I bought one a couple of months ago and sent it back for the IS. It is a great lens.
