I just drove from Wisconsin to Bend, OR en route to Portland where I'm starting law school in a couple weeks. Took I-94 to western ND, then north to US-2 through Montana to Glacier National Park. From there, South through Montana and Idaho to Oregon. Tried to make plenty of time for the camera, here's my favorites:

Slept in my car in a North Dakota field the first night, this was the scene when the sun woke me up:

Western ND had a bunch of sunflower fields, quite an amazing thing to see hundreds of acres of sunflowers in one place.

I guess this one was broken

Saw an old, busted up grain loading tower next to the tracks along US-2 in north central Montana. It was full of pigeons and falling apart. Made me a little nervous, but I couldn't help but go inside to get a few shots.

A couple of the tracks along US-2. Pretty desolate area, nothing but wheat fields, and apparently a lot of methamphetamine addicts :-(

I camped just east of Glacier and got up at 4am to get some sunrise photos in the park. It was pretty smoky from nearby wildfires, but it made for some interesting gloominess to the scene.

The roadside in Lolo pass was lined with blackberries as big as my thumb, by far the best I've ever had.

I drove through the Salmon River Canyon once I was in Idaho where it was 103 degrees. I found one bend in the river where there was a nice sand beach. Stopped to take a swim and took some shots of bird tracks along the bank.

those are beautiful
I like 1, 3, 13 and 15 the best (if I counted right....13 being the lake and 15 being the berries)

I do like the lake one, although at full size you can see that it's not really all that sharp, and there's a big ol' dust spot in the lower left, but it's still a really beautiful scene. The camera didn't really do the scenery much justice.

I thought there was some rule about a max of 8 pics per post...

You should have split this into a couple of threads, or only post your best two or three / the ones you wanted comments on.

You should have taken the picture before you picked those blackberries!

I also like #3 and the lake.

What a great trip. I have wanted to drive that area of the country for years. I have been to many of those places, but to do it all in one trip would be wonderful. Glad you were able to capture all of it with your camera.

I love #4 (wish that private property sign was not there though, you should removed it before you ate the blackberries :) ) and #7 - the barn/broken windows.

Oregon is the capital of Meth use, in case you didn't know. There was a TV special about drug/meth use a while back.

Sorry, didn't know about any rule regarding number of pics per post. Gotta remember not everybody has broadband.

I just discovered, about an hour ago, that my new house has the same blackberries growing around the yard, plus a fig tree!
