My new Canon 17-40mm f/4L and my Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L along with a new Canon BG-E3 and a CF card reader are on their way from B&H. I can't wait. I finally joined the red -ringed Tupperware party.

^^ Yeah, what's wrong with you?

You need a 70-200, at least.

A prime would help, too. Say, 85 f/1.8 to start?

Seriously, congrats, and have fun being afflicted with L disease. Post ducks!

Now you will see why those that have a 'L' lens are fond of them.

i would've gotten a 70-200 instead of one of the zooms, too much overlap and you might not use one of the lenses

I needed these lenses for my Photography program. I needed the wide angle for first semester and the the standard lens for second. I will get the 70-200 don't you worry. It just won't be right now. I have to use them between a full frame and a crop camera. So having them both really helps. I can't wait.

I am soo excited. I have seen so many insane pictures from these lenses. The Contrast an Color is insane. I was thinking about that whole overlap thing and getting the 70-200, but like I said, I will get it, just not now. The more I think about it, I don't know if I would get the 70-200 or the 100-400. Its a tough one. I don't know if I will like the dust pumper though.

This is probably the coolest disease you could ever have.

+1 on the 24-70. That's the best lens I own.

Do you think there is too much overlap there? Curious why you didn't go 10-22mm + 24-70

Don't get too excited. Canon L's are the best. However, the lens only focuses on what the guy behind the camera sees.

Get some good photos and share them here !! Congratulations.

Oh, I know. I just can't wait. I am finally getting a decent tripod too. I had one of those junk sunpak ones. Barely holds a P&S. I have so many plans for shoots to practice. There is lots of beach here. I am excited to see the little bit extra reach over the kit lens. Its not much, but it will be nice.

My biggest thing I can't wait to do is some sunsets or beach photos. The kit lens that I have is unusally soft. I have had my camera recalibrated and it is a little better, but it doesn't have the contrast and sharpness I am looking for. I am just hoping I get a good copy of both of these lenses.
