onboard flash on 300D

is it at all possible to change when the flash flashes on a 300D eg at towards the end of a shot rather than at the beginning?Cheers in advancePhil

I'm afraid not, to use second curtain sync you need and external dedicated flash with that ability built in.

I thought cheap and dedicated were mutually exclusive words when talking about flashguns. ;)
sigma ef500 DG Super is around £160 ish

Nope, second curtain sync doesn't work on the 300D with the Wasia hack...

Not necessarily, but the cheap, dedicated ones usually don't have a 2nd curtain option.

The Sigma Super previously mentioned is a good choice, also consider a 430EX Speedlite.

2nd curtain sync is a specialized feature that most people don't need very often. But Flash Exposure Compensation (FEC) is pretty essential. The 300D doesn't have it (unless you hack the firmware), so a flash unit with FEC is a must.

Might be time to just sell the Rebel and pick up a used 10D for $400 or a 20D for $500-$600. If this feature is mission critical.

I just wanted it for taking photo's of mtb'ing in the woods that I ride and possibly some night time biking pics which would be fun. Dont know if the missus would let me spend more money upgrading lol
