That's def the real deal. I work at best buy and searched it... as stated before. The enter date said 9-2-07 so it will most likely arrive around the middle of the month. There was no photoshop used on the original photo. I can take a picture when I go in today if that would turn everyone into believers. It's on its way!

(and yes the kit lens is the 28-135 IS)

So with 28-135 kit it's $1599. $1299 body only? Sounds good to me.

Well, if you google the UPC code it comes up as belonging to Canon.

If you listen to the rumor mill:
10.2MP, digic III, anti-dust, ISO 100-3200, 3inch LCD, liveview, in viewfinder and top LCD ISO, 3 preset custom functions on the mode dial, extra thumb button for AF like 1Dm3, new battery grip, weather sealing, 6.25fps.

Who knows though.

Nice if it's true.. sounds very good indeed.
Wait till everyione starts dumping there 20D and 30Ds... ;)

Looks like JPG compression artifacts to me. But what's the deal with putting the Canon lens cap in there? Maybe trying to legitimize a hoax? Here's hoping the price is wrong anyway.

Looks like the lens cap was used to hold the price tag up against the monitor while the picture was taken.

If the body-only is $1299 list, what will B&H, Adorama, OneCall have it at?

I doubt the product is actively for sale until the 2nd. The system must allow for entries into the system without making it available to the general public.

Unless the product is publically announced by the manufacturer we won't have any info on it until it comes out. When the product is announced it will pop up on the website but until then only the employees and forum members know whats going on.

Are we expecting ISO 3200 like the 30D has ISO 3200 or will it have ISO3200 like the MkIII has ISO3200. :)

If so sign me up! Are we expecting an increase in dynamic range if it does have the new processor?

AND, any word on AF? The same I guess because we haven't heard any differently.

I agree... my question is, as a photography major who uses film also, save for the 5D or save with the 40D... :-\

I really don't believe the rumoured Canon EOS 40D will neither have weather sealing. nor the same ISO 3200 like the Canon EOS 1D Mark III. Though a 40D with a Digic III processor, 3" LCD, Live View, AF-On button, 3 custom Cfn on the mode dial sounds pretty reasonable for me. And also the 28-135mm with Image Stabilizer is a nice range for the average Joe, but it lacks a bit on the wide. Better reason to sell Canon EF-S 10-22mm.

While you're at it, do you think you could search to see if there is a new 5D or 1D Mk IIIs coming? :)

Does anyone know if it will have ISO safety (or priority?) mode like the MKIII? If so, I'm buying.

I'll see what I can do... no promises but i'll have a look. The first place to start is actually seeing if the current 5D has been deleted from our system. If thats the case then yes there should be a new one.
