At Crook Peak today in Somerset I was chasing grayling and wall butterflies. The walls were especially skittish and had nothing after over an hour's chasing and stalking. So I stacked my 1.5x tele-adapter on top of the 500D close-up lens on my Canon S3. It means I can take moderate close ups from around 3 feet away. Doing this takes a bit of an IQ hit but careful choice of aperture when shooting and some lens correction in Photoshop can get quite good results. Here's what I got, about 3/4 frame:

Then I got a semi-closed wing shot. This is uncropped:

Graylings were a bit easier to stalk, although they never perch with waings open. Uncropped:

Shot with Canon S3 with HDK raw hack with 1.5x converter and 500D close-up lens. C&C appreciated.
