This is my first and only (out of focus) dragonfly shot. I've only seen a few since I started shooting and each time they landed far out of reach.

Today I was shooting a hoverfly near the pond in my backyard, when this little guy sat down on my shooting finger. I managed to slowly move my hand, and using my thumb I set the timer to 2 seconds. I pressed the shutter with my thumb and quickly but carefully moved my finger in front of the lens to where I guessed the focal point would be. As soon as the camera took the shot the little guy flew off.

Its a shame I didn't get it in focus, but its a funny story that I wanted to share.

lol that is class- nice one
I was lying on my stomach on the grass this morning to take a photo of a Dragon I was crawling up on- one time when he flew off (he did this usually and then settled down again) and he was flying around my head and body; I actually felt like he was going to set down on my head or something lol
Nice pic here even though being OOF

is it? I thought Damsels folded their wings back and Dragons kept their wings out- I know the eyes look more Damselish but... hmmm- nice spot

Emerald damselflies (Lestes) park their wings about halfway. Others do too when it's hot. Dragonflies' eyes meet in the middle. :)
