Dragon... I'm trying something here

I'm going for the artistic approach now- as they seem to be all the rave
lol but seriously I was just wondering; today I snapped a Dragon (fly ) on the stone around my pond... now instead of the usually 'boring' upload into the Macro forum (ok I'll be honest Brian is scarring me with his shots lol If I stay away from them; mine might look better :lol Anyway I digress:
I thought that perhaps the Dragon would look good in B&W? I'd like to hear what you think...I just quite like the way the wings sort of disappear into the black... and the short DOF kinda works too...

I didnt think I would like it as I was reading what you had done, but scrolling down to look at the pic, I do actually like it, I think it works well.

Thanks; I was doubtful at first but went ahead and it sort of grew on me...
Oh yea just to mention this was on my 300mm f/4 IS L with extension tubes; not bad, aye?

i don't blame you for not wanting to post pic when we have Brian and everyone else who does amazing shot. wasn't sure if i like it in b+w but it kinda grow on you in the end.

Hate to say it Richard but I think the colour shot is much better especially as it is against a monotone grey wall but it's always good to experiment.

I like it, but the colors on in the original is what makes the original better IMO. If it was a brown one, or you didn't post the original.
