ID help - guessing an Egret of some type?

I can't find this guy in my NG Birds of North America Guide book. It was shot on Mackay Island in North Carolina (almost in Virginia on the coast).

What you have there is a Cattle Egret. Very well captured in flight shot.

Those guys are skittish. They don't pose too well and fly away at the slightest sight of anything resembling a photographer :lol:
