Try Proshow Gold or Producer, it's the most commonly recommended. There's also PicturestoExe and a third app of which the name escapes me just now.

I'm a ProShow Gold user also... It's so easy to use and I've been very happy with it..

Do these produce Flash or HTML content for web use?

I've found it very hard to find a decent one of these. There's a lovely bit of software out there but it's only for MAC users. :(

Yes, Proshow 3 produces Flash content natively.

bannedPermanent ban

Couple things.

SWF n' slide is for either Windows or Mac. It makes really good flash based executable files and flash files for the web. I have exported from my Mac an executable Windows based file for a client and all was well. The interface is good and professional. Completely customizable.

Fotomagico is a step up for DVDs and for Mac only. It is a professional piece of software and works well.

I've been taking a look into Proshow and, when clicking on the samples, it appears to need its own ActiveX control to be able to present the content. This limits things in my opinion as it confuses people (family etc) when using the web and is absolutely useless to me here at work because I need admin rights on my PC to install the activex control :(.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a show produced using this or can anyone let me know if there is an option to just produce standard flash content.

Thanks,

TDCat.

Proshow is capable of outputting AVI, Flash movies and it's own propietrary plug in (which crashes Firefox and doesn't work in Opera!).

It's also able to burn DVDs, and create PC EXE files (or both together).

Here's a users Proshow fora:

Hello

I've asked this before but never got an answer; so i'll try again.

I use Proshow and I guess the other programs mentioned are OK as well, but they all produce a "movie". Select images and transitions etc, add some music and text and make a DVD that plays nicely to your audience.

What I am looking for is something that replicates the old fashioned 35mm slide projector. Shown an image and keep it on screen for as long as I want before clicking the forward button to the next image, or go back to a previous image.

Is there an easy way to do this?

Best Wishes

Geoffrey Pocock
