How do you use Noise Ninja

I've read the instructions and everything, but whenever I use noise ninja, it looks like it makes more noise than I originally had. I use the magic wand noise removal tool... How do you use noise ninja?

I don't know what your default settings are, but you can turn off their sharpening.
I use it to kill noise in the shadows, put that image in the layer over the original pic, then use a Layer Mask to "paint in" the noise reduction where I want it.
