It's been really, really, really hot here. Hot and humid. I hate it.
But, it got a little better today, so I went out and snapped some shots. As always, click for the full size.
1. My first robber fly. Man, these things are big! I always thought they were about the size of hoverflys, but they most certainly are not!
2. What the heck is this thing? It's like a whole-body, majestic bum-fluff bug. Near as I can tell, they use the fuzz to float around on wind currents, and then use the wings to fly when there is no wind.
3. And, a leaf hopper.
