The above is a wildlife reserve in Dorset, England. I visited the place today hoping to see a rare butterfly called a brown hairstreak. After fighting my way through hordes of tourists on their way to the seaside I arrived to find no brown hairstreak. Nada. Zilch. I did get these consolation prizes though. The first is everyone's current favourite a common darter. This is a female. The second is the only painted lady I've seen this summer, so it wasn't so bad. :)

eccles - I have tried again today to view these pics but am getting the red x again and still have yet to see the pics. Is the server you have these on playing up? Cant think of any other reason why I cant view them.

@Linda, have you tried right clicking on the red X and selecting 'show picture'?

Eccles - just viewed again and now they are showing perfectly - may well be your server then, but if it happens again, Ill try what you suggest. Not had this problem with your pics until this last week.

Anyway, back to the pics - lovely shot of the darter. DFs are very thin on the ground at the moment, so am quite disappointed at not being able to get a few more this year, just hope things pick up a bit before the season is over.

Beautiful Painted Lady photo, shows the wing markings very well :D

Linda,

this may seem like a silly question, but bear with me. Do you access this site using 'www.photography-on-the-net...' or 'photography-on-the-net...' - without the 'www' prefix?

If you are using the 'www' prefix. try using

photography-on-the.net/forum/
to access, and I'll bet you are not logged in using this address. Log in and then you should be able to see the pictures.

Sounds strange, but I have seen several cases where this is an issue.

Hi there - and thanks for the info, but I dont have the www showing at the front, I even retyped it in and coming back into this thread the pics have disappeared again, really weird. Ive even been refreshing the page (which I dont normally have to do) and they are still coming and going lol.
