Next generation of 5D?

now that there is a MKIII out... i wonder if Canon will be releasing a next generation of 5D with DIGIC III processor?

what do you guys think the probability of that happening next year? any thing from the rumor mill yet?

Just a guess, but, You probably wont see a new 5D until about 6 months after a new 1Ds is out.

The 5D is the closest thing to competition the 1Ds has, so i dont think you will see both udated near each other.

Plus, with the rumors flying that Noink is trying to develope a FF camera Canon may hold of on releasing anything in the FF catagory until the competition does, and then drop a bomb with more advanced cheaper FF cameras at the same time.

The current 5d is pretty amazing right now. There is nothing that can even come close to competing with it that canon needs to be worried about.

I would say the likelihood of a replacement in '08 is nearly certain.

I highly doubt Canon are going to introduce a new small full frame camera before Nikon or Sony come with something. No competition, then why make a new camera?

I heard somewhere that the 1Ds III is ready, Canon just have to find time to introduce it. No competiton for the 1Ds either.

So, I think, let's wait for Nikon's full frame camera and then see Canon make even a better one.

Maybe, just maybe Canon is waiting for Nikon to announce their replacement for the D200 and then Canon will announce their 5D replacement.

Think about this for a little more money buyers will be able to buy a new FF body instead of a Nikon crop body. Won't you think this will motivate buyers. Not to mention less noise and better performance at higher ISO. To juice it up possibly more MP.
