The only HoverFly, HELOPHILUS PENDULUS, THE SUN FLY.
That I have seen for some time so I shot this for Alby. LOL.

Yes a lovely big Sun Fly indeed, nice catch Brian, can I ask was it near a pond? Ialways seem to find these really close to water.
