Howdy,

I just downloaded EXIF Viewer to check shutter count on a 30D and 1DsMk2. This is what it displyas for a file from the 30D:

Image Type: Canon EOS 30D
Actuation Counter: 176
Actuation Multiplier: 43017

The thing is, there's no way the 30D has 176 or 43017 actuations... it's probably closer to 5000. Any ideas?

The readout for the 1DsMk2 only says "Actuation Counter: 176" - the actuation multiplier isn't there at all, although 156 does sound about right.

Anybody familiar with this program and can offer some insight?

You can't get the shutter count of a 30D, only Canon can. Dunno why that information's in there. For the 1 series it should be accurate.
