The International Space Station and Space Shuttle flew by tonight, and I was curious what a camera could pick up. They're only a few pixels in each shot, but I believe you can see the side solar panels, and the center station with the space shuttle. At least that's what I convinced myself of. ;)

I used my 70-200 f/4 with a 1.4 TC. The ISS took about 3 minutes to pass over head, and so I had time to try various settings. These were taken around f/5.6 @ 1/250 sec, and either 800 or 1600 ISO. I had my 20D on a monopod for stability. Later this week I may try and shoot through my telescope, but it's really difficult to pan that fast.

^^ he didn't need steady hands..he shot at 250 so that's fast enough even for handholding.

nice pics - would be even nicer if they were bigger! ;-P

Wow, those were with the 70-200? Hmm, I'll have to give it a try. I always enjoy watching them come over when they do, but never tried to capture them, I never thought I could get any kind of detail. Thanks for sharing these.

Cool, I got a shot of it on it's own the other night, but since then it's been pouring with rain!
