I use a Graphire3. I don't know for sure, but I think the differences between the two are mostly cosmetic. It works great. I actually preferred the smaller (4 X 5) size until just recently when I upgraded to a 24" monitor from a 17" monitor. I think it may be slightly on the small side for all of the surface area on the large monitor, but I'll get used to it. Otherwise, Wacom is a great company with great products.

Gives you better control than a mouse and its pressure sensitive so you could, for example, draw a darker or wider line when you press the pen harder.
