I just bought my Rebel XTi a few months ago and recently added a Canon 100mm macro lens. I have had a lot of fun with it as I can take a lot of shots in my yard as we have a lot of flowers and plants. This is one of my better efforts.

I appreciate any comments and suggestions as I am in the diaper stage with this camera!

Thanks!

That's a nice effort. The moth looks like it's using one of those coffee straws...hehehehe! This specific shot doesn't do much for me, though, because IMHO you should have gone for some more DOF...and it looks a little OOF.

The colors are great, and you must have some great shots with the 100mm + Xti.

Keep on shooting!

Welcome. Nice shot at a different angle. Focus is a bit of but not to bad.
I see you shot at f8, most of the people on here use f11 - f13 to get a good DOF.
Also 1/50th is slow to hand hold, I shoot at 160 - 200 th sec. and use flash as a fill in. Look forward to more of yous work.

A very nice effort. Can't add much to what has already been said. The idea is excellent, showing the viewer something they rarely, if ever, see.

Well done, and keep it up. :)

Thanks for this input Brian.

How are you able to tell my settings from the copy of the picture I posted.
