The folks over at Feisol have another one of their spectacular presale deals.

They are releasing a new ultra light travel/hiking tripod (Feisol 3441S). There's currently a presale that offers a free ballhead, quick-release plate for that ballhead, and an free short center column for only 309 USD. All this will cost about 425 USD in a couple weeks (or a couple days when the limited presales are finished), so if you are looking for one of the best CF tripods you can buy for hiking and traveling, jump on this right away -- there are only 100 presale orders.

Feisols are a great alternative to Gitzo tripods. They offer like 90% of the features for 50% of the price. They are getting really positive reveiws on the web, and people often consider them cheaper alternatives to gitzos.

I own a Feisol 3441, and it's a fantastic tripod for hiking and traveling. It weighs like 2.7 lbs, folds up to 16.9 inches, is 54 inches without the center column extended, has a weighhook and padding, and supports up to 6 kg (abotu 13 lbs). The perfect hiking/travel tripod.

The new model offers some interesting features (better, larger and stronger twist looks, support for spikes you can add to the feet, more weight capacity..etc).

Cheers

I'm in the process of writing a review for my Feisol 3441. So far, I'm loving it. It's "almost" perfect. The new features on the 3441S make it even closer to perfect, enough that I've ordered one of the presale ones (can't argue with the free ballhead, quickrelease plate, and short column included) and will sell my brand new 3441.

Where can I find this deal?

First three Canon 5Ds. Some lights (some really fancy ones too). Some glass (maybe a few too many but who's keeping track?). Some cool stamps on my passport.

I was considering the tournament one, about a month ago, but the small foldup size and much lighter weight of the 3441 was more important than the extra stability of the tournament tripods. Of course, little did I know that the new model (3441S) would be coming out a month later.
