Just looking to become a better photographer so I need all the help I can get. What would have made this a better shot?

Put bluntly, it could be in focus.

Expression is cute - good catch there.

Watch your background. Seems cluttered to me. Why did you want the stroller in the shot?

I would try to tone down the hotspots at the top of the head and on the legs. Little sharper would help...but I'm not sure if it's your transition to a lower-res jpg or if it's actually OOF. The red pillow/bag/or whatever it is keeps drawing my attention (along with the stroller). Also, great expression.

Sometimes I question if I really know what I'm doing.

I didn't actually want any of that in the background...just saw the face and took the shot and it happened to be there. Thanks for the comments...the RAW image looks sharper for sure.

Malone: That's what I figured about the sharpness. It is a precious shot...one of those hard-to-capture moments. Nice job.
