Here's one I shot last week, a female speckled wood butterfly sat waiting for a male to sweep her off her feet.

Viewing this one perfectly tonight Superb shot as usual eccles, you have really captured the colour of it perfectly. Great composition too.

Lovely shot eccles- have to ask - how do you tell the boys from the gals of this butterfly ?
I get quite a few of these in the garden and they are very territorial so I assumed they were mainly males ?

Thanks all, much appreciated. @Brian, females of many species of butterflies have shorter and fatter abdomens as they contain eggs. They can get quite distended just before laying. And you're right, it's the males that are the territorial ones.
